Uganda is as safe . The civil war ended more than 20 years ago and since then the country has enjoyed political stability that will allow you to mix with its people and explore its corners with complete peace of mind
As a company, we endeavor to detail all the price inclusions and exclusions on any itinerary we send out to any Agent or client. Some of the inclusions include: Transport as requested, accommodation on full board basis unless otherwise noted, all activities as per the itinerary, English speaking driver guide. You will also have a ranger guide with you for many of the activities in the national parks you visit, bottled drinking water while on safari, Meals on transit are included in the price
Both Countries have almost the same climate and terrain. It is possible to travel all year round but the best times to travel are between June to October and December to February however they are also characterized with a greater number of visitors and rainy seasons. This makes the prices of accommodation and transport high making the safari abit on the high side. Though November, March to June would be ideal for best prices being a low season but all said you can visit both countries all year round.
The process to book a group trip with us is as follows. You must fill out the reservation form that you will find inside each file and once you complete this procedure you will be specified how to proceed. You must pay a deposit of 30% of the total amount for the reservation to the PRIMATES QUEST Bank account number In this way your place will be reserved to be able to take your Uganda Safari with us.
Lodge : luxury accommodations . They offer high-level rooms, unbeatable locations, panoramic views, etc. Prices start at $250.
Tented Camp : tents with amenities . The format varies from large tents with the comforts of a 15 square meter hotel room: ( 1.5 × 2 m queen size beds, bathroom, shower and electricity) to two-person igloo models with lounge chairs and an interior light bulb. .
Camps : camping areas equipped with minimal infrastructure : latrines and basic showers without hot water . This type of accommodation allows you to wake up surrounded by nature and wild animals.
Bush Camp : free camping for the most adventurous . For safety, we are always accompanied by an armed Ranger and we take advantage of the nearby rivers to take African-style showers: with buckets of water! It is the option with the fewest amenities but the best location of all.
Other accommodations:
Local hotels : simple, cozy and clean rooms in family hotels that offer good service and allow you to get closer to African culture.
Shorts, light weight tops and sandals for travel days; good hiking boots, sun hat, sweat band & gloves (for gorilla tracking Safaris & chimps tracking/Habituation; light weight rain gear, long sleeve shirt and pants (for any type of walking safari), a light backpack, sunscreen, and sun glasses. Most up-market lodges have swimming pools, so remember your swim suits! Khaki colored clothing is advised since it does not attract insects and it is cooler to wear. Evenings may get cooler or cold, especially in mountainous areas like, Bwindi, Mgahinga or the Volcanoes /Virungas (Rwanda) so bring a jacket and / or sweater. Also remember the Insect repellant, especially if you are going to do any walking in the forests. Favorite snacks, enough memory cards, rechargeable batteries and a diary may also be packed. Trackers undertaking MUST wear long trousers. The weather is unpredictable sometimes so rain gear should also be packed.
We have the most hospitable and happy People in the region. You will be able to get help easily, the people smile a lot, wave and give attention. At times children will make phrases like ‘Mzungu’ this is a term they use to refer to a white person and is not intended to offend you as a visitor. At the advice of a driver Guide, you can even stop by communities and local markets to have an experience with the local people.
Thanks to its geographical location, close to the Equator, the climate in Uganda remains pleasant throughout the year, with temperatures varying between 20 and 27ºC during the day, and between 15º and 18ºC at night .
It has 2 rainy seasons, from March to May and from September to November; and 2 dry seasons , which include the months of December to February and from mid-June to mid-August .
